Rose's Back Yard And Some Deer.

Tue Feb 21, 2012 12:16 AM EST
By 58rose

we started on our walk to day they the wife beeped me about my van. the guy had to talk to me, it was some vale in the back that was needed, OK put it in. well it is a 149.99. well let me see walk everywhere or a 150 bucks + labor he says. well i'm not THAT fond of walking i tell him to fix it. so our walk was cut short as there would have to be a bank run, as the places around here that do work do not take any kind of cards. cash or if they know ya GOOD a check they will take, but write a check ya have to have it in the checking acc. what a world we live in hey. will got that done and picked it up and i have brakes again, 235 is all gone. so we sit around the house and watch the deer eat the rest of the day. cars, they know we have to have them.

i don't know what happened here.

a sunny day

Rose's back yard.

i had to go up there, no really.

feeding time.

more coming.

the clean up crew.

58Rose,

Is the first blue shot the first picture you took that day and was the camera setting where it was cold?

hi JACK, it was the first one and the camera was in my pocket for about 1/2 hour before it.

I would guess you are in auto white balance. Early morning can sometimes trick it and with snow it can even make it worse. I still think that the camera was cold but, you should try the different white balance settings. The later pictures exhibit blue hue in them as well meaning that the auto white balance is not very accurate.

What make and model camera are you using?

I have down loaded the user guide to your camera I will read a little and post something here if that is OK?

If it was in tungsten everything would be blue like the first shot.

If there is still a lot of snow and you can shoot at the same time of day you may want to try these for fun.

Daylight, flash, cloudy and for just to show you tungsten.

Shoot the same shot for all white balance changes and compare. By the way tungsten is great to shoot the moon in. That old saying "One in a blue moon."

IF the camera is cold it will shift blue this was true of daylight film as well. But, early morning is bluer in color where as days end is warmer in color.

In your manual page 80 is all of the white balance settings.

Anything else I can do I will be glad to help if I can.

IF you want I have I will email it to you if you want or I could go back and find the link where I got it. I did not go to Canon but, I would think you could and download it from there.

I just downloaded so I could talk with some intelligence.

All of my Nikons for the last 40+ years have had manuals. I do keep some of them in PDF on the computer for comparisons.

Here is the Canon link with manual download.

The deer are just precious.

Now here's how I see it.... First you scare me on the ice, then you scare me about no brakes in the snow and let me get this straight...NOW YOU"RE ON THE ROOF?????????? WITH... SNOW and ICE?? Has
Rose taught you nothing? You keep all fours on the ground, off the lake or in a car with brakes!! And keep the car off the lake regardless of what the Ice People do. OK? Ok. Thanks.

i'm good with both my feet on the ground no matter how big they get.

will let me say to my 2 ma's, the last time i hit the brakes for a deer. i was on I-75 in 1973 coming back from Wisconsin, my first son was on my wife lap and she giving him a bottle. we were going 70mph that was the speed back then.

the deer was in the middle of the 2 lanes and headed the other way, when i told my wife to look at it. i turn back around and he was running in front of the car, well i hit the brakes my wife started to scream i looked and my son was falling off her lap. i let off the brake and hit the deer ripped his head right off, and the car went half was up the side blow out a tire back across the road and in to the ditch. my son had a black eye for 2 weeks.

I DON'T BRAKE FOR DEER!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Sorry about your van and the brakes. It does seem like everything is so expensive anymore. I don't know how we can afford to live sometimes.

Love the one from the roof - my hubby always liked to go on the roof wonder if that's a up north thing? Great pictures.

nothing falling, i throw corn all around so when they is a lot like last night they don't fight to get to the feeder.

the wife cut up potatoes and carrots and what ever is left from dinner, i do that 2 times a night, then in the morning i put out corn for the squirrels. so they are picking corn out of the snow.

Do you talk to the deer when you are outside? I used to talk to the deer when I would go to start the truck in the morning. I didn't like spooking them so I would start talking softly just before I would open the door. They would hear me and just move on to the back 40. I moved into town last year and I miss it, so your pictures put a smile on my face.

Thanks for taking us on a walk.
